This morning feels quietly surreal. To be featured in today’s Berita Harian for the upcoming Patient Voices Symposium 2025 is something I never imagined when I was that young girl trying to make sense of pain that had no name.

From the eleven-year-old who endured endless discomfort to the woman diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis, this journey has always been about more than just surviving. It has been about transforming pain into purpose and using my voice to create space for others who are still finding theirs.
Through E for Endometriosis, I have met so many incredible souls who remind me that healing does not only come from medicine, but also from being understood. To now represent our community, as one of the patient partners at the Patient Voices Symposium 2025 organised by NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, is a deeply humbling honour.

My heartfelt gratitude to Kak Hanim, the kind-hearted journalist who wrote this piece with such empathy and care. Thank you for seeing the human story behind the medical condition and for helping to shed light on what so many silently endure.

May this feature not be about me, but about every person who has ever felt unseen in their suffering. May it serve as a reminder that our voices matter, that lived experiences are powerful teachers, and that awareness begins with understanding.
