Last weekend was a deeply meaningful one for me. I had the honour of speaking at WEtalk 2025, an initiative by Project WE (Women’s Empowerment), led by medical students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. Knowing that this platform is rooted within such a respected and thoughtful institution gave the entire experience a sense of depth and purpose. It is a space created to guide young people into conversations that matter, especially around women’s health and the realities so many of us navigate quietly.

There were about 75 students present, representing around 15 schools across Singapore. They came from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, and universities, each carrying their own story and curiosity. Standing before them felt like witnessing a new generation of changemakers taking shape. They listened with intention. Their questions were sincere, grounded and far more perceptive than I expected. Some of them came up to me afterwards to speak privately, to share what resonated with them or to ask how they could begin creating change in their own circles. Their presence reminded me that awareness is not only taught. It is received with heart, and these young people showed me that they are ready to receive it.

To Yashika, Jyotsna and the entire Project WE team, thank you for creating an environment where young people could learn with openness and without fear. Your sincerity was felt in every detail. And to every student who came with courage and curiosity, thank you for listening so deeply and for showing that the future of women’s health education is in capable and compassionate hands.

I left the session feeling humbled, encouraged and quietly hopeful. If this is the generation stepping forward, then the work we do today will continue to bloom long after we are gone 🫶🏻🌻
