In the blink of an eye, 2021 has drawn its curtain. Here's what E for Endometriosis has in the pipeline for you in the first half of 2022:
January – Recap 2021
This is a time that serves as a chance to reflect on how E for Endometriosis has adapted to the challenges 2021 has brought with it. It is also a time where we introspect on making improvements and doing more for the community.
February – KKH Talk
If you are wondering how the 1st Survey help in our mission of creating awareness, here’s how it was shared:
1) Endometriosis Advisory Board Meeting (SG & MY)
An advisory board meeting was held virtually attended by healthcare providers both in Singapore & Malaysia. The survey is shared in this meeting with the hope that more doctors would come to understand the dilemmas most Endometriosis patients felt during their 1st consultation and the approach patients hope to achieve.
2) Endometriosis Talks from Public & Private Hospitals
Some clinics and hospitals took the initiative to hold virtual talks on Endometriosis and share the survey result with the participants.
For example, in this KKH Talk (to be confirmed), I am invited as a guest speaker to share the survey result with the audience.
This survey is also shared within some of the healthcare providers’ internal meetings.
3) A Meeting with MPs
Had the honor to meet two laureled women political leaders virtually in December 2021. This valuable opportunity is taken by sharing the survey with them.
4) Global Endometriosis Movement
Representing Singapore, E for Endometriosis will share the survey result on an international platform; The EndoMarch global movement, this coming 26th March 2022.
It has been announced that the global movement day is on the 26th of March 2022. To ensure we synchronize with the day, Singapore Endometriosis Month (March) Awareness Talk will be held on the same day, 26th of March 2022, Saturday, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm. So do save the date!
April – Ramadhan Special Talk
How do I manage my daily prayers whenever I am having a spotting?
Do I need to perform ghusl (major ablution) whenever I am having a spotting?
Can I fast in a state of having a spotting?
When does the bleeding consider as Istihadha?
We heard you. In conjunction with the holy month Ramadhan, we are planning a talk that covers these concerns.
May – Mental Health Awareness Month
In conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month, more posts such as self-care tips and advice from the experts and stories of triumph will be shared this month.
June – World Infertility Awareness Month Talk
May is the World Infertility Awareness Month Talk and it is timely to conduct a talk that covers fertility treatments, options, and expectations for those who are trying to conceive and battling Endometriosis. We are in the midst of ironing out the details with Prof. Jerry Chan Kok Yen. To be confirmed.
All events except the SG EndoMarch talk & the Ramadhan special talk in April are still in the planning and confirming phase. We are working hard to materialize it.
