In this free quarterly Zoom session by E for Endometriosis, we explored the important question: Can Endometriosis Cause Menopause Before 40?

This session was part of the E for Endometriosis Quarterly Zoom Series, a free educational initiative created to make endometriosis-related knowledge more accessible to patients, caregivers, and the wider community. Through these quarterly sessions, E for Endometriosis brings together medical professionals, patient advocates, and lived-experience voices to discuss topics that are often overlooked, misunderstood, or difficult to access in everyday healthcare conversations. The series aims to provide a safe, grounded, and compassionate learning space where the community can better understand endometriosis beyond pain and periods. Each session focuses on a different aspect of the condition, including diagnosis, fertility, mental health, pain management, hormonal health, menopause, and the long-term impact of living with a chronic illness.

For this session, we discussed perimenopause, early menopause, and endometriosis after menopause. These are realities many patients are not always warned about. The conversation explored how endometriosis may affect reproductive hormones, fertility windows, and the timing of menopause, especially for those who have experienced repeated surgeries, recurring cysts, medical menopause, or long-term hormonal changes.

We were honoured to have Dr Michelle Lim Hui Ping, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Nobel Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, share her medical insights on this topic.

We were also grateful to have Ms Diana Tan, Founder of Advocates for Advancing Health, Co-Founder of Menopause Care Alliance, and OPEN Voices Patient Partner with LKCMedicine, share her lived experience and patient advocacy perspective.

This conversation was created to help patients feel more informed, less alone, and more empowered to ask the right questions about their bodies, treatment options, and long-term health. This session was organised by E for Endometriosis in collaboration with Nobel Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre and Menopause Care Alliance (MCA).
