In Good Hands - Zoom Talk

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

In this upcoming talk, I am bringing a renowned Endometriosis specialist who also mentors worldwide on the usage of robotic (Viky & da Vinci Si) excision, a procedure so familiar to us Endo Warriors. Doctor Peter Barton Smith will be joining us from London, UK. He taught some of the well-known Endometriosis specialists around the globe, Singapore included! Professor Jerry Chan Kok Yen, Director, KK Research Centre, KK Women's and Children's Hospital, was one of the many under his guidance.

Despite the 7-hour time difference, Doctor Peter Barton Smith made it a point to make things work. He is thrilled to connect with his Singapore patients (calling out to you! You know who you are!) and would be glad to address concerns on Endometriosis for any of us who struggles for answers. His vast expertise and knowledge of this awful disease are valuable. It is a session you don’t want to miss!

Here are some of the questions we would address on that day. You may leave your questions in the comment section:

  1. How was the situation (awareness-wise and professional expertise) when you were here in Singapore?

  2. From your experience, how bad are the cases here in Singapore compared to overseas? Why is this so?

  3. Why are there so many misconceptions about Endometriosis, even among healthcare professionals?

  4. Is it essential to get a skilled excision surgeon, and why?

  5. By percentage, how far are we in reaching toward a community that takes Endometriosis seriously and provide treatment holistically?

  6. Is patient centredness approach critical in managing Endometriosis? Why?

  7. How vital is patient advocacy in creating Endometriosis awareness? Why?
